Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio’s Manchester Chapter Celebrates Achievements in Preserving and Promoting Ibibio Culture

Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio is a socio-cultural organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Ibibio culture worldwide. Our organization was formed in 1987 in Calabar, Nigeria, and is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under the Companies and Allied Matters Act of 1990. With chapters in major cities in Nigeria and the diaspora, including the UK and USA, we are a forward-looking, God-fearing, and creative organization of dedicated Ibibio people.

Our Manchester Chapter, established in 2008, is a non-profit organization with members in the Northwest, Midlands, and Central England. We have achieved significant milestones since our inauguration, including promoting the speaking of Ibibio language among Akwa Ibom children, hosting the first and second Ibibio Summits in Manchester and London, respectively, and launching scholarship awards and mentorship programs for students and science teachers in Mboho Unity Schools in Nigeria.

Our organization also supports and collaborates with the Ibibio Language Writers Association (ILWA) in publishing works in Ibibio language and sponsoring annual essay competitions in Ibibio language for secondary school students in Akwa Ibom State and Ibibio children in the diaspora.

We are committed to our mission of engineering and building the Ibibio Nation and Akwa Ibom State and her people for the good of all, based on love, unity, and strength.
